We were not that satisfied with our previous visit to the Cafe Maya, but our most recent experience was much more satisfactory. Our group sampled the Mexico City tacos, taco plate, fajitas, and quesadillas. All were satisfied with their various dishes. The food was freshly prepared, the service courteous and timely, and the guitarist enhanced the ambiance. My only gripe was that the beer was served at a warmish temperature.

We began going to the first Cafe Maya on Rt 9 south of 84, years ago. It was small, cozy, and BYOB (and it still is). Food is excellent. Owned by Luis who is from the Yucatan. He was so successful there that he bought the old Moog's Farm at the intersection of I84 and Rt 9. Same excellent cuisine with a loyal following. Saturday nights and Friday nights expect a wait. Luis greets people like old friends and he is wonderful with kids! Delicious guac is made at the table. He has opened a new business in Beacon on Main Street.
