I grew up on Long Island and can never find decent bread or rolls in the Hudson Valley. I was plasantly surprised when I stopped in at the Brick Oven while in Hopewell one day. One smell of the place when I strolled in was enough to tell me that I had finally found good crusty Italian bread. I now take a 15 minute drive just for their bread.

I hit Adams at least once a week and find the produce to always be fresh and much less pricey than the supermakets. The cheese and coffee shop have such great selections and the staff in the cheese shop are very knowledgeable about the different types. I am not always satisfied with the beef, but the sales on chicken and pork are great.

Food was just ok which surprised me since it often wins best Mexican in the Hudson Valley. I found the restaurant to be dirty and badly in need of renovation. The lack of cleanliness turned me off-I wondered what the kitchen might be like.
