Shawn arrived right on the dot and did a thoroughly professional job. He spotted additional problems and proposed solutions. He was very neat. His prices are fair and competitive.

It appears that the venue now occupied by Junction 52 may finally have a successful restaurant tenant, after many forgettable attempts over the years. We found the drink portions to be generous and reasonably priced. The offerings for the wine by the glass option were well selected. A very pleasant surprise was the calamari appetizer. It was easily shareable, tender, and served with a distinctive tangy sauce. The price was $6.95. B. chose the entree special, a potato crusted salmon and she was very pleased. I went for the full rack of ribs and found them flavorful and meaty. Again, there was no skimping on the portions. The sides were nicely complementary.. Both entrees were priced at a reasonable $17.95, altho a dinner salad was not included. Service was attentive and friendly. Junction 52 is a welcome addition to the southern Dutchess area.

My disappointment with the movie, "Gran Torino", did not put me in the best of moods for dinner. The movie was soppy and overrated. Anyhow, post movie, we proceeded to the nearby Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse, armed w/ recession fighting coupons which promised a 6 shrimp and 12 oz grilled sirloin entree, accompanied by salad and a side dish for $12.99($15.99 w/o the coupon). Who could say NO? My drink order of scotch neat, was served on ice(it was a freezing nite in Mid Jan.)..I had the drink sent back for de_icing and it returned in a martini glass. As for the food, the shrimp was dry and tasteless. The steak was grilled to the requested medium rare, but was also dry and tasteless, in spite of the pungent marinade. The ambiance was "standard chain steakhouse ugly", with booths that were uncomfortable enough to discourage dawdling. My Father always insisted: "You get what you pay for".
